ENI will provide advice on possible application of research results, and  offer a few internships to students working on themes of joint interest.
Instytut FotonowyInstytut Fotonowy, Krakow, Poland is devoted to design and construction of laboratory equipment mostly involved with detection, shaping and generation of light. Experts from Instytut Fotonowy will contribute to the ASC Advisory board, as well as to the winter schools by providing spectroscopy oriented seminars, soft skills and career opportunities seminars. Instytut Fotonowy will propose internships and onsite visits to ASC students in Krakow.

Afficher l'image d'origineThe Utrecht Network is a representative European-wide network of universities (31 European Higher Education Institutions in 29 countries) cooperating with partner networks in Australia and the USA in the area of internationalization of higher education. Utrecht Network supports winter schools with hospitality grants.
The Council of Region Hauts de France, in order to promote excellence at Master’s level and develop intercultural communication, has been supporting the ASC master since it was created by offering several study or research mobility grants each year to self-financed ASC students. This regional body will increase its financial support to the international mobility of ASC students to contribute to the sustainability of the programme. It will also be involved in the advisory board of the programme for external evaluation.

Research Institutes

CICATA-IPN research centre of the Mexico City Instituto Politecnico Nacional (who will act as promoters of the programme in IPN for now) with the objective of involving the entire HEI for, e.g., double-degrees.
SOLEIL, is the French national synchrotron facility, operating at 2.75 GeV as a high brilliance third generation synchrotron. It offers a unique panorama of experiments (11 beamlines in surface and material sciences, chemistry, environmental and earth sciences and biology).
The Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems (CNR-IMM) Section of Bologna is a multi-disciplinary research centre, with 30 years’ experience in the study of materials and devices for microelectronics. IMM-BO embraces a wide area of knowledge, spanning from material characterization to the study of technological processes, and the design and fabrication of integrated devices. The laboratory raised as a European excellence in the development and use of electron, ion and X-ray characterization techniques, and renowned competences in Transmission, Scanning and Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM, SEM and STEM, respectively). The CNR-IMM agrees to welcome ASC master students for their thesis, in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Chemistry. Researchers of CNR-IMM are also willing to deliver lectures and seminars to students, and to provide counseling via the External Advisory Board.
ELETTRA Sincrotrone Trieste, Italy, the Italian 3rd generation synchrotron radiation facility is a multidisciplinary research center hosting 26 beamlines and 10 supporting laboratories. ELETTRA will offer internships to the ASC students. Researchers and qualified personnel will continue to deliver lectures/seminars during winter schools and participate in the upgrades of the joint synchrotron module. One member of ELETTRA will be part of the ASC external advisory board, for quality enhancement of the program. 2nd-year students in Bologna can visit the facilities.
The National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS will provide hard skills (technological) seminars and participate to the external quality assessment. It will also provide access to its premises for visits, consultations as well as internships, realized in collaboration with laboratories of the Jagiellonian University.
Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics (JCET), Poland is a well-equipped interdisciplinary research center of medical research and development, first of its kind in Poland and unique in Europe. JCET will continue hosting ASC students in the frame of their Master thesis or short-term internships. JCET’s staff will participate in winter schools to give spectroscopy oriented seminars
Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) will offer internships and/or master thesis topics for 2nd year students of the ASC master. Topics and possibilities for the practical work will be offered in collaboration with a supervisor from the ASC staff. Scientific staff of UFZ will take part in teaching activities by offering specialized lectures or seminars. UFZ also welcomes onsite visits of ASC students of the institution’s premises, organized by the University of Leipzig. UFZ is willing to take part in the quality assessment by sending a suitable person to participate in the EAB
The Leibniz Institute of Surface Modification (IOM) is working on interdisciplinary topics of application-oriented basic research and innovative application development. The aim is to gain new scientific insights as well as implementing these in an economic context. IOM will offer internships and/or master thesis topics for 2nd year students of the ASC master. Topics and possibilities for the practical work will be offered in collaboration with a supervisor from the ASC staff. Scientific staff of IOM will take part in teaching activities by offering specialized lectures or seminars. IOM also welcomes onsite visits of ASC students of the institution’s premises, organized by the University of Leipzig. IOM is willing to take part in the quality assessment by sending a suitable person to participate in the advisory board meetings.
